This November, Antiek Tattoo Gallery on the Rozengracht breaks new ground with BEYOND THE SURFACE – a multidisciplinary exhibition featuring an all-female lineup of bold, boundary-pushing artists.

For the first time, Antiek is collaborating with "Here and Now” (Chinny Bond and Tony van Amsterdam), bringing a fresh curatorial perspective to the gallery. Unlike Antiek’s usual focus on artists with a tattooing background, BEYOND THE SURFACE will feature a group of exceptional female artists from diverse disciplines. The result is a multidisciplinary exhibition that expands Antiek’s artistic scope while celebrating female creativity in all its forms.

Since 2013, Antiek has been known for its roots in tattoo culture, transforming a former antique shop into one of Amsterdam’s most vibrant creative spaces. But with BEYOND THE SURFACE, Antiek is stepping into fresh territory. For the first time, the gallery teams up with curator Here and Now to showcase artists from outside the tattoo world – bringing together diverse practices, perspectives, and voices.

Expect powerful works, unexpected conversations, and a celebration of creativity that goes far beyond the skin.
